Of the ones I've read from the NYT list I think you might like Never Let Me Go, Pachinko, Bel Canto, A Manual for Cleaning Women, and Men We Reaped (one of the best books I have ever read). Also insane that the list is both fiction and non-fiction imo!
INSANE! i honestly think it was an nyt snobbery decision where it felt more rigorous to only have one list, but it's wild to me that it was a mix as well. and those are all books i'm interested in!! i was planning to read pachinko this year but i'm also actually trying to salvage my goodreads goal and i'm worried it will take me too long, so i might bump it to january depending on how things go. but jesmyn ward is an author i really really need to read soon! also also i would genuinely be so interested to see your top 10 vote for best books if you were ever at all interested in making a list!
